FAQ · Questions and answers

Questions about drone inspections: short questions, honest answers.

Fourteen questions in six groups: scope, the law, thermal imaging, price, data and dates. We answer plainly - including what the method does not confirm. Every answer ends with a specific, and if your question is not here, you will find the contact details at the bottom of the page.

01 · Scope and terminology

What you get and what this is not.

Will a drone find every defect?
No - and no honest operator would promise that. Aerial imagery and the survey narrow down the area for further inspection and put the observations in order: what to check, where and at what priority. It does not replace an electrical inspection, a structural expert opinion or a surveyor's assessment, and surfaces permanently obscured, for example behind dense trees at the façade, may stay out of frame. Specifics: every report has its own section on the limits of the method - we state plainly what the material does not confirm.
Is the report an expert opinion or an audit?
No. The report keeps four things apart: the observation, the context of the conditions, the limit of the method and the recommended next step. The interpretation and the technical decision belong to the roofer, the PV service company, the surveyor or another appropriate expert. Specifics: you get the material in a form ready to hand to the expert, with the location of every observation - with no diagnosis they would have to argue with. See how the process works ⟶
What is an observation card?
A summary of the mission's observations in one place: every observation has an exact location on the roof, a priority for further checking and a recommendation for the specialist, while the flight conditions and the limits of the method are recorded separately. The recipient does not go through hundreds of frames - they get a list of places to check. Specifics: you can see the card in full in the demonstration material, clearly marked as a demo. 02 · Feasibility and the law

The first question: can we fly here at all?

Can a drone fly anywhere? What about airspace zones?
Not everywhere. Before we take an assignment we check the geographical zones for drones at the specific address: some locations require permissions, some rule out a flight in the open category. We fly within the operator's visual line of sight (VLOS), in the open category, up to 120 m above ground. Flights over bystanders and beyond visual line of sight - a specific category of scenarios - we do not currently offer. Specifics: the zone assessment for your address is free and commits you to nothing. Check your address ⟶
Do I need my neighbours' consent for an inspection?
The conditions for a legal flight are the zone, safety and the rules of the open category, plus the consent of the owner of the building and of the take-off site - not a neighbour's signature. We do not fly over bystanders, and we plan the mission geometry so the frame covers the building under assignment, not other people's property. Specifics: in dense developments we recommend letting neighbours know about the date - that is a matter of good relations, not a formal requirement on their part. Safety and compliance rules ⟶
Why is the flight date always conditional?
Because the flight depends on factors outside our control: the weather (we do not fly in rain - that is a limit of the equipment, and strong wind postpones the flight), the zones and any permissions, and access to the site. We would rather postpone the mission than hand over material gathered in bad conditions - that is part of the method, not an excuse. Specifics: we reserve a date window rather than a fixed hour, and confirm it or propose a new date the day before the flight.

03 · PV thermal imaging

Thermal imaging works when the physics allows it.

When does a PV thermal camera survey actually work?
When the method thresholds are met, and we treat them as gates: minimum sunlight of 600 W/m² in the plane of the modules (POA), wind up to 4 m/s, a stable clear sky and a ground resolution up to 3 cm/px. In practice that is roughly the season from March to September, around midday. Thermal imaging does not "detect faults" - it points out observations for verification by the appropriate service company. Specifics: when the thresholds are not met we postpone the date or change the scope to RGB documentation, and we record the conditions of delivery in the report's conditions sheet. Is PV thermal imaging included in Roof 360?
No. Roof 360 includes roof photographs and a seasonal thermal pass around the house. PV thermal imaging is a separate scope. A sound thermal survey of one home installation needs the same process as a large site: a weather window, method thresholds, RGB/IR frame pairs and quality control. For a single trip, the cost of that process exceeds a price that could honestly be defended, and cutting the process spoils the result. So we normally direct thermal imaging to companies and partners, and for houses we run it only as a paid route pilot - several addresses in one mission, with no public price. Specifics: want to join a route in your area? Leave your address noting "PV thermal imaging". Leave your address ⟶

04 · Price

What the price includes and what affects it.

How much does a drone inspection cost?
Roof 360 for a house: 499 PLN gross locally (working price). Minimum order: 4 contracted addresses on one route (shared schedule and deposit); 499 PLN gross per address, travel counted once for the whole route. Commercial assignments: from 2,200 PLN net (working floor), quoted by scope. Travel up to 30 km from the confirmed dispatch point is included in the price. Specifics: we state the final price in the quote after the feasibility review, always marked unambiguously net or gross. View the full price list ⟶
Why is there no full PV survey of a house for 500 PLN?
Because a full, standalone thermal survey of a home installation at that price falls below the cost of a sound process: travel and a weather window, the method thresholds, RGB/IR frame pairs, quality control and a report with its limits. A price that forces shortcuts spoils exactly what you are paying for. Instead we offer a smaller, clearly described scope - visual documentation of the panels (RGB) within the Roof 360 package for 499 PLN gross (working price) - or a route where the cost of the mission is spread across several addresses. Specifics: we describe the differences between scopes on the services page. Compare service scopes ⟶

05 · Data and privacy

What the camera sees and what happens to it.

What about the neighbours' privacy and GDPR?
We plan the mission on the principle of minimisation: the frame covers the building under assignment, we record only what is needed for the purpose of the mission, and material that accidentally captures people or other people's property is not published or shared beyond the assignment. The form collects only the data needed to assess the enquiry, and marketing consent is separate and never a condition of service. Specifics: the rules of processing and your rights are described in the privacy policy. Privacy policy ⟶
How long do you keep the material from a mission?
The material from a mission has a defined retention period and access rules, written into the terms of the assignment - once that period passes it is deleted, not archived "just in case". Data from enquiries that did not result in an assignment we delete after 12 months at the latest. Specifics: the retention period for your material is in the terms of the assignment and in the report itself. Terms of service ⟶

06 · Scheduling

Dates: fast, but conditional.

How quickly will I get a date?
We reply within 1 business day, and we usually prepare a standard quote within 48 hours of having the full information. The flight date itself depends on the zones, access and the weather, so it is always conditional. Area of work: Greater Poland for residential assignments; commercial projects and partner cooperation we deliver across the country after assessing travel. Specifics: the clock starts the moment you send the form - you get the first reply with the feasibility review within 1 business day.
After a windstorm or hail - what should I do?
Safety first: do not climb onto the roof and stay away from hanging elements - we will document it from the air. It is worth doing quickly, before the traces fade or get repaired: material with a date, a mission log and a record of conditions puts the conversation with an insurer in order, though it does not settle a claim - in a dispute a surveyor may be needed. After a storm a flight is often only possible once the wind has died down; we do not fly in rain. Specifics: an enquiry marked "weather damage" we schedule in the first available weather window.
