Roof + PV · for companies

Commercial roof and PV drone inspection: the state of both in one concrete document.

Handover of works, the end of a warranty, budget planning or the search for the cause of a leak. Instead of sending people onto the roof or hiring a lift just to take a look, we survey the building from the air. You receive a summary with photographs, panel row numbers and locations of observations to check. You hand the document to a roofer or an electrician: they can plan further inspection points and the equipment they need.

When facility management calls

Six moments when the actual state matters.

T·01

Handover of works

Documentation of the state after roofing works or a PV installation - independent material for the conversation with the contractor, before you sign the acceptance protocol.

T·02

The warranty window

The warranty on the roof or the installation is coming to an end. A documented state is input for the conversation with the service company or the guarantor, before the window closes.

T·03

Refurbishment and budget

Planning a refurbishment or next year's maintenance budget: priorities based on observations instead of a wish list and guesswork.

T·04

No access to the roof

Health and safety procedures, a fragile covering or no fall protection: the state of the surface without sending people up at height and without hiring a lift "just to take a look".

T·05

A drop in PV output

Output lower than usual? The first step is often to document what is visible: soiling, shading, mechanical damage. The interpretation belongs to the service company.

T·06

After a windstorm

Weather damage on the site: quick documentation of the state with a date and the conditions of capture, before the traces fade.

Scope

RGB as standard, thermal imaging after the method gate.

RGB material - standard on every mission

  • the covering, parapets, metal flashings and roof drainage
  • skylights, chimneys and rooftop equipment - without stepping onto the roof surface
  • PV modules visually: soiling, mechanical damage, shading
  • the façade and the surroundings of the building, where the scope covers them
  • a mission log and a record of the conditions with every set of material

PV thermal imaging - conditional scope

after the method gate

The thermal module is offered to companies and partners only. It joins the scope only once we have passed the method gate, and only when the conditions on the day of the mission are met:

  • min. 600 W/m² irradiance in the plane of the modules (POA)
  • stable sunlight, no precipitation, wind up to 4 m/s
  • native GSD up to 3 cm/px

Thermal imaging points out observations for verification by the appropriate service company - it does not "detect faults" and it does not replace electrical measurements. Conditions that are not met mean postponement or an RGB scope. The full description of the thermal method.

We do not diagnose causes and we do not issue structural or electrical expert opinions. We deliver ordered observations with priorities - the decision and the repair are led by your service company, your roofer or the appropriate expert.

Observation index

One register for the roof and the PV, ready for maintenance planning.

Instead of hundreds of files - numbered observations with their location and priority. You can see what needs a response now and what can wait until the scheduled inspection.

  • every observation has an ID and a location on the building
  • a priority that orders the sequence of the service response
  • kept apart: the observation, the context of the conditions, the limit of the method, the next step
  • the owner of the next step is named: roofer, O&M service, surveyor
  • a format ready to hand to the contractor without further processing

The index puts observations in order - it does not turn them into a diagnosis. That way the service company receives material, not an opinion it has to argue with.

Extract from the observation indexdemonstration data

D-01 roof · eaves strip, axis 4-5 priority A

Detached metal flashing. Next step: inspection by a roofer before the rainy season.

PV-06 PV · section B, rows 2-3 priority B

Linear soiling of the modules along the edge of the roof surface. Next step: cleaning in the O&M service plan.

E-04 façade · south parapet priority C

A water stain below the parapet. Context: imagery taken after a week of rain. Next step: a repeat check at the following visit.

From the flight to the service call

Five steps: from the enquiry to the report.

01

Qualification

We check the airspace zone and access to the building. We establish straight away whether the assignment is feasible, before we confirm a date.

02

Plan and rules

We agree the flight geometry and the site's requirements: safety induction, passes and confidentiality rules.

03

The flight

RGB imagery of the whole covering as standard. A thermal camera check is carried out only in stable sunlight and after the method has been passed. Frame completeness we check while still on site.

04

The summary

We select the sharp frames and tie observations to specific places on the roof, together with an urgency priority.

05

Handover

The file goes to your service company, roofer or insurer with a note on what to do first.

Interpretation and repair remain with the appropriate contractor. We are responsible for completeness, the conditions of capture and the order of the material. We describe the whole process on the How we work page, and we invite contractors to partner with us on the Partner Program (under your own brand) page.

Confidentiality and quality control

We treat site data as site data.

Confidentiality

  • an NDA on request - before any data about the site is handed over
  • access to the material only for the people you name
  • a defined retention period and rules for deleting the material
  • minimised recording of people and of surroundings outside the scope
  • delivery through the channel agreed with the client

Quality control

  • a mission log and a record of the conditions with every set of material
  • frame completeness checked while still on site
  • selection and indexing instead of a dump of every file
  • observation kept apart from interpretation in every entry
  • conditions not met = postponement or a narrower scope, never a flight forced through

Packages and pricing rules

Quoted by scope, the threshold stated plainly.

from 2,200 PLN net (working floor), quoted by scope

The quote for a single building depends above all on:

  • the area and geometry of the roof and the number of installations
  • access, safety and confidentiality requirements on site
  • whether the conditional PV thermal module is in scope
  • travel beyond the 30 km radius from the confirmed dispatch point

A lower unit price is possible only on a combined route, as an add-on to a mission or in a contract covering at least 4 visits. Every quote states net and gross amounts unambiguously. The full rules are in the price list.

A larger scope

Portfolios of buildings, construction sites, PV farms.

The same index standard works at scale: a comparable register of the state and of the changes between visits instead of folders scattered per building. We always start scaling with a small, paid pilot with a clear success criterion.

Z·01

Property portfolio

One observation card standard across many buildings. Start with 3-5 buildings, a shared register and maintenance priorities for the whole portfolio.

Z·02

Construction and change over time

Repeatable imagery between visits: a baseline state, fixed shots and a register of changes for progress documentation.

Z·03

PV farms

A small, indexed observation pilot on a selected section before a decision on scale. The thermal module only after the method gate and with the right field conditions.

A pilot before scaling

  • the scope of the pilot and the success criterion are agreed before the start
  • the result of the pilot is a decision about a series, not an automatic commitment
  • a series and a portfolio are quoted by scope, on the basis of the working threshold
  • distance does not close a project: what counts is whether the scope covers the logistics of the trip, and for more distant locations delivery goes through a route or a vetted partner

Dates and communication

Dates stated honestly: they depend on the weather.

T·01

The reply

An enquiry: a reply within 1 business day. A standard quote usually within 48 h of receiving the full information about the building.

T·02

The flight date

Always conditional: the airspace zone, access to the site and the weather. We do not fly in rain - that is a limit of the equipment. Strong wind also postpones the mission.

T·03

A backup window

For every date we plan a backup window. PV thermal imaging has additional requirements for sunlight and wind - its window is often narrower than for RGB.

For serial contracts we plan dates in windows rather than as fixed days - that way the comparability of the material does not lose out to the calendar.

The level of evidence

Instead of logos - material you can judge for yourself.

Aerfield is ahead of its first commercial assignments and we say so plainly. We do not publish invented case studies, effectiveness figures or other people's logos. To judge the standard there is a sample report built from test material - marked as a demo - together with an open description of the process, the quality control and the limits of the method.

Check Feasibility

Tell us about your building - we start with feasibility.

A reply within 1 business day, a standard quote usually within 48 h of receiving the full information. The flight date is always conditional: the airspace zone, access and the weather. Confidentiality on request from the first contact.
